Our shortlisted campaign, Angelfish Marketing & Orion Group: Energised by “Game-Changing” SEO, set out to transform SEO from an underperforming channel into a measurable, growth-driving engine for the business.

Orion Group approached us with a clear set of challenges and goals:

  • Recover lost rankings following a complex website migration
  • Increase high-quality organic traffic from both candidates and clients
  • Generate measurable ROI from SEO, tracking performance from vacancy creation through to placed candidates

Working closely with Orion’s in-house team, we developed a comprehensive SEO strategy focused on rebuilding authority, increasing visibility, and improving engagement across key candidate and client audiences.

The Strategy: Measurable, Meaningful SEO

Our approach combined technical precision, creative content, and data-driven tracking.

We began with an in-depth competitor and persona analysis to understand both audiences: energy professionals seeking global roles and employers looking for specialist talent.

From there, our strategy focused on three key pillars:

  1. Content Architecture
    We built topic clusters and long-form pillar pages around key services such as global oil and gas recruitment and renewable energy staffing. Supporting blogs and resources addressed candidate pain points such as CVs and interview preparation, and client challenges such as talent shortages and compliance, linked internally for maximum visibility and engagement.
  2. Technical SEO and Link-Building
    We resolved migration issues including broken links and duplicate content, optimised metadata and schema, and launched a targeted link-building campaign with authoritative industry placements to strengthen domain authority.
  3. Measurement Innovation
    Through a HubSpot integration, we created full-funnel visibility, tracking traffic, leads, job applications, and placements directly from organic channels. This gave Orion precise insight into how SEO activity translated into tangible business outcomes.

The campaign exceeded every objective and transformed SEO into one of Orion’s strongest-performing digital channels.

  • 76,120 total site visits
  • 3,653 new contacts
