High 5 for HookedOnMedia in UK Search Awards Nominations

We’re thrilled to announce that HookedOnMedia has been shortlisted five times at this year’s UK Search Awards! As a small, Cornwall-based digital marketing agency, being recognised on a national stage alongside some of the UK’s most innovative brands is an incredible milestone for our team.

The UK Search Awards are widely regarded as some of the most prestigious accolades in digital marketing, celebrating excellence, creativity, and effectiveness across SEO, PPC, and content marketing. For a close-knit, fully remote team like ours, being shortlisted five times is an incredible honour and a recognition of the dedication, creativity, and expertise of our team.

Who We Are

HookedOnMedia is a digital marketing agency and Google Partner serving businesses across Cornwall and beyond since 2012. We specialise in SEO, PPC, web design, content marketing, and fully integrated campaigns that deliver measurable results.

Our team thrives on collaboration, creativity, and innovation, helping both local businesses and national clients achieve their goals. Despite being small and remote, our ambition and expertise allow us to compete nationally and deliver campaigns with real-world impact.

Random fact: Our name comes from our Technical Director and Co-Founder’s love of fishing! Andrew is one of the most experienced SEO specialists in the country – having worked in search before Google existed – and just like he can hook a carp, he knows how to and reel in results for our clients!

Among the small business categories, we were thrilled to receive nominations in the following categories:

1. Best Use of Search – Travel / Leisure (PPC)
Client: Beach Retreats
We transformed this client’s campaigns from basic search ads to fully optimised Performance Max campaigns in just six months. By creatively navigating restrictions and curating targeted collections, we achieved an impressive 900% return on ad spend (ROAS). This campaign demonstrates how a small, agile team can deliver large-scale results through strategy and innovation.

2. Best Use of Search – B2C (SEO)
Client: A2B Taxis Cornwall
A2B Taxis Cornwall approached us with minimal online visibility. In six months, we established them as a local SEO leader, doubling monthly organic engaged sessions and securing top positions for broad and hyper-local search terms like “Truro taxis.” Our mobile-first SEO strategy strengthened their online presence and credibility, helping them outperform competitors across Cornwall.

3. Best Use of Search – Automotive
Client: Steve Andrews Tyres & Autocare
We delivered a multi-channel campaign for this client combining SEO, web design, and paid social to drive customers to their three branches. By integrating local SEO with targeted social ads, we secured top-three positions in Google Maps local packs for all locations. 

4. Best Low Budget Campaign (PPC)
Client: Garden Buildings Cornwall
Proving that great results don’t require large budgets, we ran a cost-effective PPC campaign targeting high-intent keywords and optimised landing pages to improve lead quality. Careful geo-targeting across Cornwall and Devon, combined with ongoing creative optimisation, delivered remarkable ROI.

5. Best Small Integrated Search Agency
This nomination recognises our agency as a whole, highlighting our fresh approach – staying curious and adaptable in an industry we know inside out. From running digital marketing sessions with local universities to hosting strategy days in unique locations like Bodmin Jail, we’re always looking for new ways to collaborate, share knowledge, and stay connected with our community.

Whether it’s donning our wellies for a meeting on a remote farm near Land’s End, battling through tourist-packed streets in St Ives, or delivering ice creams to clients on hot summer days, we go the extra mile for the people and businesses who trust us with their campaigns.
