Catalyst Marketing and The Kitchen Store: Driving Local Growth Through Search

Search Awards finalist, Catalyst Marketing share their year of success.

At Catalyst Marketing, we work with ambitious local service businesses that want to grow without losing what makes them unique. We act as an outsourced performance marketing partner, giving regional brands the same level of strategy and results that bigger national agencies promise, but with the communication and care of a small, local team.

One of those businesses is The Kitchen Store, a Sussex-based kitchen retailer with showrooms in Brighton, Horsham and Guildford. They wanted to grow awareness and enquiries across each location without increasing their overall spend, which is where we came in.

The Work That Got Us Shortlisted

Our UK Search Awards nomination celebrates the local SEO campaign we ran for The Kitchen Store. The aim was simple: drive more high-intent, local traffic and convert it into real showroom visits and customers.

We started by breaking down the data to find what people were really searching for. From there, we built dedicated landing pages for each location, making sure every page reflected what local customers actually wanted.

The results

  • From: 140% increase in qualified enquiries year-on-year
  • To: 91% increase in conversions year-on-year

It wasn’t about chasing clicks. It was about creating a system where search visibility actually turned into footfall.

What Being Shortlisted Means to Us

Being shortlisted for the UK Search Awards means a lot to us as a team. We’ve always believed that great marketing should be measurable, ethical and focused on long-term growth. Seeing our work for The Kitchen Store recognised on a national level proves that you don’t need to be a huge agency to make an impact on a regional level.

“To see our work recognised nationally is always a big deal for a smaller team like ours,” says Chris Turnbull, Founder and Managing Director of Catalyst Marketing. “It shows that our approach works and that we can deliver serious results for regional businesses that deserve to grow.”

For our team, this nomination feels like a celebration of everything we’ve worked for over the past few years. Every person who touched this project helped make it happen, and it’s been great to take a moment and appreciate that.

The Partnership Behind the Project

This campaign wouldn’t have been possible without The Kitchen Store’s trust and willingness to collaborate. They’ve been open to testing new ideas, trying different campaign structures and letting the data guide decisions.

“We’ve been working with Catalyst for the last year and have been consistently impressed. They’re strategic, responsive, and bring great energy to everything they do.” says Alan Margetts, Managing Director at The Kitchen Store. “it’s clear they genuinely care about delivering results.”

That kind of partnership is exactly what we aim for. When clients see us as part of their business, the results are always better.
